CancerCare’s 2022 National Gala Raises Over $1,000,000 to Support Those Affected by Cancer
CancerCare was excited to celebrate with its supporters in person for the first time since 2019 at this year’s national gala, held on April 12, 2022, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, in New York City. This year’s gala exceeded its fundraising goal, raising over $1,000,000 to help fund CancerCare’s free financial and psychosocial support services for people affected by a cancer diagnosis.
Three CancerCare Board of Trustees were honored with the 2022 Help & Hope Award: Christine Converse Hogan, CIO Advisor, Zoom Video Communications Inc.; Marsha Palanci, Founder, Cornerstone Communications; and Susan Smirnoff, Past President of the Board and healthcare communications and public relations consultant.
Musical performances by Tony and Grammy Award nominee Jeremy Jordan and the percussion group Industrial Rhythm set the tone for the evening, giving over 400 attendees a reason to celebrate our community and generous supporters who have made substantial contributions to improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
In addition to the standout musical performances of the night, attendees participated in a live and silent auction, with prizes ranging from wine and one-of-a-kind food experiences, to trips to Mexico and a suite at Yankee Stadium when they host the Boston Red Sox. Mastercard served as the exclusive auction sponsor and preferred payment partner.
CancerCare would like to thank the 2022 Gala Co-Chairs, Paula Lascano and Annette Alvarez Pizzo, as well as the Gala Committee: Paul M. Friedman, Christine Converse Hogan, Kay Hsu, Rachel Klein, Loretta and Raymond Moseman, Marsha Palanci, Lori and Michael Parisi, Chandni Patel, Drew Pizzo, Eleanor Signona, Susan Smirnoff and Kirk Zachary and Burt Zweigenhaft.
We would also like to thank our generous sponsors for their support:
