Avon Foundation Supports CancerCare's Financial Assistance for Underserved Women With Breast Cancer
New York, NY, October 7, 2007–-CancerCare's Jane Levy accepted a $1.235 million check from the Avon Foundation, during the fifth annual Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, held in New York City on Oct. 6. The walk attracted more than 3,900 participants, who raised a record $10.2 million that will be used to improve access to care and support research for a cure for breast cancer. The grant to CancerCare will support its financial assistance program for low-income, underserved women facing a breast cancer diagnosis.
