CancerCare® Achieves Prestigious Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator
CancerCare®, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer, is proud to announce that its strong financial health and ongoing accountability and transparency has earned a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. This rating designates CancerCare as an official “Give with Confidence” charity, indicating that the organization is using its donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s criteria.
“It’s crucial for our donors to trust that we’re using their contributions efficiently to fulfill our mission of providing comprehensive help and hope to people affected by cancer,” said Patricia J. Goldsmith, Chief Executive Officer, CancerCare. “Our four-star Charity Navigator rating, coupled with the fact that 93 cents of every dollar we raise goes directly to programs helping people with cancer, clearly showcases our dedication to fiscal responsibility. All of our programs and services are offered completely free of charge to anyone impacted by cancer.”
Charity Navigator is America’s largest and most-utilized independent charity evaluator. Only a quarter of charities evaluated by Charity Navigator achieve the distinction of a four-star rating. This honor signifies that CancerCare consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, fostering the trust and confidence of its donors.
“We are delighted to provide CancerCare with third-party accreditation that validates their operational excellence,” said Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “The Four-Star Rating is the highest possible rating an organization can achieve. We are eager to see the good work that CancerCare is able to accomplish in the years ahead.”
CancerCare's commitment goes beyond just fiscal responsibility. The organization remains steadfast in its mission, ensuring that anyone impacted by cancer can receive emotional, practical and financial support from our professional oncology social workers.
In addition to a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, CancerCare is a GuideStar gold-rated charity. For more information or to donate to CancerCare, please visit www.cancercare.org.
