CancerCare®'s 2023 National Gala Raises Over $1,000,000 to Support Those Affected by Cancer
CancerCare®, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer, is pleased to share that this year’s national gala exceeded its fundraising goal, raising over $1.1 million to help fund CancerCare’s free education, financial and psychosocial support services for anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis.
This year's gala honored Mastercard, a leading global technology company and strong supporter of cancer advocacy. Craig Vosburg, Chief Product Officer, Mastercard, accepted this year’s Sponsor & Corporate Achievement Award on behalf of Mastercard. “We are incredibly honored to be recognized with CancerCare’s Corporate Achievement Award this year and are looking forward to continuing to support the non-profit's integral mission,” said Mr. Vosburg in his acceptance remarks.
“Mastercard has demonstrated a deep commitment to CancerCare’s mission of providing free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer,” said CancerCare CEO Patricia J. Goldsmith. “Their support allows us to continue providing help and hope to people coping with a cancer diagnosis, as well as caregivers and the bereaved.”
Musical performances by Broadway/television actor and cancer survivor Krysta Rodriguez and world-renowned tap dancer and performer DeWitt Fleming, Jr., set the tone for the evening, giving over 400 attendees a reason to celebrate CancerCare’s community and generous supporters who have made substantial contributions to improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
In addition to the standout musical performances of the night, attendees participated in a live and silent auction, with prizes ranging from wine and one-of-a-kind dining experiences, in New York City, San Antonio, Desert Springs and Napa Valley, California, as well as a suite at Yankee Stadium when they host the Kansas City Royals. Mastercard served as the exclusive auction sponsor and preferred payment partner.
