CancerCare® Welcomes Mark D. Peters II, PharmD as Vice President for New Business Development and Outreach
CancerCare, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free support services to anyone affected by cancer, is pleased to welcome Mark D. Peters II, PharmD to the team as Vice President for New Business Development and Outreach.
With over 30 years of clinical and administrative healthcare experience, Dr. Peters will be responsible for creating and expanding relationships with current and potential supporters, as well as assisting with new initiatives that help people manage the emotional, practical and financial challenges of cancer.
“I have had the honor and pleasure of working with Dr. Peters for many years,” said CancerCare CEO Patricia J. Goldsmith. “Mark has always worked tirelessly to support cancer patients and their caregivers. We are thrilled to welcome Mark to CancerCare to support and enhance our mission to provide help and hope to anyone impacted by a cancer diagnosis.”
Most recently, Dr. Peters retired from Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) where he was the Executive Director of US Patient Advocacy and Professional Relations. He helped lead the BMS-Rutgers PharmD Fellowship Program and created the industry-leading Patient Advocacy and Health Policy Fellowship. Additionally, Dr. Peters is an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at Rutgers University Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and serves as the Board President of the Institute for Medication Access and Compliance. He is also a community activist for improving medication access for underserved communities.
“It is an honor and privilege to join CancerCare,” said Mark Peters. “I am very blessed to be part of an organization that helped my parents in the 1970's when my mom was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. I know what CancerCare meant to my parents and I am looking forward to making a difference in the lives of others.”
