CancerCare® Appoints Dr. Alton Kremer and John Keating to Board of Trustees
CancerCare, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free support services to anyone affected by cancer, is pleased to welcome two new members to their Board of Trustees, Dr. Alton “Josh” Kremer and John Keating.
Dr. Kremer is a board-certified pediatrician who graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1981, where he earned his M.D. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry. He also holds a B.A. degree from Wesleyan University with a major in Chemistry. Most recently, Dr. Kremer served as Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Medical Officer, Oncology Business Group, Eisai Inc., until his retirement last year.
“I have always been concerned with the needs of young patients, siblings of patients and survivors of pediatric cancer in particular, groups that can benefit from CancerCare’s comprehensive emotional support programs,” said Dr. Kremer. “I am excited to join the board of an organization committed to serving people of all ages, all roles and all cancer diagnoses.”
Mr. Keating, Corporate Vice President and Head of Commercial at Genmab, joined Genmab in 2014 with the core purpose to increase commercial capability within the company including marketing, market access and new product strategy. Prior to joining Genmab, Mr. Keating held several executive roles at GlaxoSmithKline in the oncology business unit.
“Through over twenty years in the oncology space, I’ve always been guided by a desire to make a real difference to patients. I am honored to join the Board of Trustees for an organization that is able to make a difference for their clients every day,” said Mr. Keating. “CancerCare’s work to protect patient access mirrors my own passion for ensuring that the cutting-edge treatments being developed today have a true impact on those who need it most.”
“We are thrilled to welcome both Dr. Kremer and Mr. Keating to CancerCare’s Board of Trustees,” said Patricia J. Goldsmith, Chief Executive Officer of CancerCare. “Their diverse experience and understanding of the impacts of a cancer diagnosis will be extremely beneficial to the organization and its future.”
